On October 23, 2024, an international scientific conference «The Contribution of Makhtumkuli Fragi's Work to World Literature» dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi was held in Bishkek.
Deputy ministers of foreign affairs, education and science of the Kyrgyz Republic, heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the scientific intelligentsia, experts, political scientists, researchers and literature lovers, attended the event.
During the event, aspects of Magtymguly Fragi’s work, his influence on world literature and the culture of the region were discussed. Particular attention was paid to how Fragi's works continue to inspire modern generations.
The participants also noted the importance of the International Forum, held on October 11, 2024, in popularizing the classical heritage of Magtymguly Fragi, studying the relationship between the languages and literatures of the peoples of the East, his role in the development of national statehood, and the contribution of the humanist poet to the treasury of universal spiritual values.
The conference also included a presentation of a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi in the Kyrgyz language. The speeches emphasized that the translation of the poet’s poems into the Kyrgyz language is a sign of great respect not only for the personality and for work of Magtymguly Fragi, but also for the entire Turkmen people.
In addition, an exhibition of Turkmen printed materials, works of national fine and decorative arts was organized.
