On 24 January 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, in collaboration with the Creative Union of Georgian Writers, organized a cultural event to mark the slogan of 2025 in Turkmenistan, and the declaration of 2025 as the «International Year of Peace and Trust» on the basis of the UN General Assembly resolution initiated by Turkmenistan.
It was attended by the Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia Nino Tsilosani, President of National Academy of Sciences academician Roin Metreveli, heads and representatives of the ministries and agencies of Georgia, cultural and artistic figures, representatives of higher education institutions, scientific intelligentsia and the media.
At the beginning of the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia D.Seyitmammedov presented the jubilee medal «Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna» to the Chairman of the Creative Union of Writers of Georgia, laureate of the Shota Rustaveli Prize Makvala Gonashvili for her special contribution to the popularization of the creative heritage of Magtymguly Fragi. In her speech, M.Gonashvili expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the high assessment of her work.
As part of the event, a presentation ceremony of the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov «Magtymguly – the Sage of the World» was held. It was emphasized that the work, addressed to a wide readership, highlights the literary heritage of the outstanding master of words, his enormous contribution to world culture, the events held to mark the poet’s anniversary, as well as the high achievements and successes achieved by Turkmenistan.
Special emphasis was placed on the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan in 2025 and the proclamation of 2025 as the «International Year of Peace and Trust», which became a clear expression of recognition of Turkmenistan's activities aimed at ensuring global peace, security and sustainable development.
In addition, an exhibition of books by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and works of decorative and applied art was organized.
