The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine hosts "Poetic Dialogue of Cultures"
To mark World Poetry Day on March 21, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine held a poetic marathon titled "Dialogue of Cultures through the Poetic Word." The event brought together members of the Turkmen diaspora and Embassy staff.
Participants recited works by legendary Turkmen and Ukrainian classics, including Magtymguly Pyragy, Seyitnazar Seydi, Gurbandurdy Zelili, Taras Shevchenko, Lesya Ukrainka, and Volodymyr Sosiura. The readings focused on spiritual values and the connection between humanity and nature.
The marathon culminated at the Magtymguly Pyragy monument in Kyiv, where his poetry was recited in Ukrainian. The imagery of the horse and the rider in the final poem aligns perfectly with Turkmenistan's 2026 motto: "Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan − homeland of purposeful heavenly horses". The event underscored the power of classical poetry in strengthening intercultural dialogue and friendship between nations.
