Pakistan's Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs visits the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad

On 3 June 2026, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad with Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on key issues related to regional stability and security, and discussed opportunities for further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan across a wide range of areas of mutual interest.

The Ambassador A. Movlamov briefed the Minister on the main priorities of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, as well as the country’s ongoing socio-economic development initiatives. Particular attention was given to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence, which is being celebrated in 2026 under the motto: “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses.”

The guest was presented with an overview of Turkmenistan’s major energy and infrastructure projects in the region, which are of strategic importance for enhancing energy security, strengthening regional connectivity, and expanding economic cooperation between the countries of Central and South Asia.

The parties exchanged views on prospects for expanding interparliamentary cooperation and emphasized the considerable potential for further Turkmen–Pakistani collaboration in the fields of energy, transport, trade, investment, and humanitarian relations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing joint initiatives across areas of shared interest.
