Turkmenistan and Georgia Aim to Further Strengthen Trade and Economic Cooperation
On 9 June 2026, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia, D. Seyitmammedov and the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, T. Ioseliani. The meeting was also attended by the Director General of JSC “Georgian Railways”, L. Abashidze.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including prospects for increasing trade turnover, attracting investments and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The parties noted the positive dynamics of Turkmen-Georgian relations and emphasized the considerable potential for further development of mutually beneficial partnership between the business communities of the two countries. Particular attention was paid to creating favorable conditions for the implementation of joint initiatives and strengthening direct contacts between relevant government agencies and business representatives.
The interlocutors also underscored the importance of further improving the legal and contractual framework of bilateral cooperation as one of the key factors for the progressive development of trade and economic relations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing a constructive dialogue aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and promoting promising joint projects.
