Scientific conference dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence held in the Republic of Türkiye
On 11 June 2026, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye, jointly with Pamukkale University in the city of Denizli, organized a scientific conference dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan, as well as to the declaration of 2026 under the motto “Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan –homeland of purposeful heavenly horses.”
The event brought together the Rector of Pamukkale University, Professor Dr. Mahmut Güngör, representatives of public and political organizations, members of the scientific and creative communities of the Republic of Türkiye, students, and media representatives.
During the speeches, the significance of the motto of 2026 was emphasized, noting that it reflects Turkmenistan’s commitment to the principles of independence, permanent neutrality, peace, good-neighborliness, and sustainable development.
The participants were informed about Turkmenistan’s achievements during the years of independence, the country’s international initiatives based on its status of permanent neutrality, as well as the prospects for further development of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and economy.
Within the framework of the conference, an exchange of views took place on current issues of bilateral cooperation and on strengthening the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye.
On the same day, a photo exhibition dedicated to the declaration of 2026 under the motto “Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan – homeland of purposeful heavenly horses” was opened in the city of Denizli.
In addition, during his visit to Denizli, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Türkiye, Mekan Ishangulyev held meetings with the Governor of Denizli Province, Yavuz Selim Köşger, the Mayor of Denizli, Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, and the Rector of Pamukkale University, Mahmut Güngör.
During the meetings, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, culture and humanitarian affairs, trade and economy, as well as issues related to further strengthening the friendly ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye.
