Ambassador of Turkmenistan Attended Celebrations on the Occasion of the Independence Day of the Philippines
On June 12, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of the Philippines (with residence in Tokyo) A. Bayramov took part in official events marking the 128th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of the Philippines.
Within the framework of the celebrations, the head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission was received by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The Ambassador also held talks with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ms. Theresa Lazaro and met with the leadership of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines.
During the meetings, the parties discussed in detail a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda. Special emphasis was placed on the prospects for intensifying trade and economic cooperation and deepening traditional cultural and humanitarian ties.
The importance of strengthening interaction and mutual support within the framework of authoritative international structures was stated. In this context, the diplomats discussed the promotion of Turkmenistan's constructive initiative to establish the "Central Asia + ASEAN" dialogue format.
During the visit, Ambassador A. Bayramov also met with the Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Mr. Y. Yang. During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current state and promising areas of mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and the ADB, paying special attention to the practical implementation of joint priority projects.
