Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Participate in an International Seminar in the People’s Republic of China

From June 22 to 28, 2026, an international seminar titled “Enhancing the Role of Legislative Bodies and Strengthening China–Central Asia Cooperation” is being held in Beijing. The seminar is organized by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China for representatives of the parliaments of the Central Asian states.

Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, as well as deputies of the legislative bodies of the countries of the region, are participating in the seminar.

The participants of the seminar noted the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in ensuring peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region. It was emphasized that holding such events contributes to the exchange of best practices in legislative and parliamentary activities, strengthening cooperation among representatives of the younger generation of parliamentarians, as well as expanding women’s participation in parliamentary cooperation.

During the seminar, the representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan delivered a presentation in which he highlighted the sustainable development of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and China, based on the principles of mutual respect, trust, equality, and mutual support.

It was emphasized that, thanks to the efforts of the leaders of the two states, Turkmenistan–China relations are consistently strengthening and acquiring new content, covering a wide range of areas of cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of regional forums, meetings, and seminars as effective platforms for exchanging views, discussing prospects for cooperation, strengthening interparliamentary ties, and identifying new areas of interaction between the Central Asian states and China.

The seminar became an important platform for further development of constructive dialogue and strengthening friendly relations between the legislative bodies of the Central Asian states and the People’s Republic of China.
