On January 31, 2017 in Ashgabat the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan had a meeting with the Secretary General of the Energy Charter Mr. Urban Rusnak, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.
During the meeting, the parties had a constructive dialogue on the current state and prospects of development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Energy Charter.
The subject of discussion was the further development of energy cooperation and consolidation of efforts through the exchange of experience between experts from countries and organizations. Discussing the process of preparation for the 28th session of the Energy Charter Conference in Ashgabat, Mr. Rusnak stressed that the presidency of Turkmenistan in the Energy Charter Treaty will give additional impetus to the mutually beneficial cooperation and will promote global energy security dialogue, achieve their goals in terms of consolidation of efforts, aimed at developing new approaches to the issues of energy security and sustainable development.
At the end of the meeting, noting the active role of Turkmenistan in the development of international activities in the field of energy, the two sides expressed their commitment to further cooperation in this direction.
