On March 10, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France M. Charyev met with the Mayor of the city of Maisons-Laffitte, Honorary Member of the French Parliament Jacques Miard. The President of the France-Turkmenistan Friendship Association K.Burdey also attended the meeting.
The main topic of the meeting was the establishment of sister city relations between the city of Arcadag and the city of Maisons-Laffitte, which is located 19 kilometers from Paris.
During the conversation, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan informed the Mayor of Mason-Laffite about the construction of the new city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan, which will become one of the largest cities in the country. It was noted that in the new city, along with numerous infrastructure facilities, the Ahal Equestrian Circus, the Research and Production Center for Horse Breeding, the statue of the famous Akhan horse, which was included in the Guinness Book of Records, as well as the International Equestrian Academy named after Aba Annaev, will be built.
Taking into account the above, as well as the fact that the city is named after the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Hero-Arkadag, who pays great attention to the preservation of the purity of the Ahal-Teke breed of horses, the ambassador emphasized the importance of establishing sister city relations between the two cities.
Mayor Jacques Miard expressed gratitude for the information provided, and also supported the idea of establishing twinning links between the cities of Arcadag and Maisons-Lafite. He also emphasized that the establishment of such links will contribute to the development of close and long-term relations between the two cities.
