On 18th April 2023, a meeting between representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Kingdom and representatives of the Milton Keynes administration management was held at the administration building of the city of Milton Keynes, which is on the list of “the smartest cities” of Great Britain. During this meeting, the participants were acquainted with Arkadag city in details.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan Ya.Seryaev at the meeting spoke about the significance of the ongoing reforms in Turkmenistan and familiarized the participants of the meeting with the progress of work carried out in the city of Arkadag, based on the concept of “smart“ city, which was built on the initiative of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the presentation of the city of Arkadag, photographs with detailed information were presented.
During the event, the British side presented information about the city of Milton Keynes, its history, population, modern technologies used in different sectors of the “smart” city, as well as the Milton Keynes development program until 2050.
Meanwhile, the Leader of the Milton Keynes City Council Peter Marland, in his speech, stated that the city of Milton Keynes cooperates with “smart” cities of foreign countries and expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Arkadag city, as well as in organizing a visit of representatives of the Milton Keynes city administration to Turkmenistan.
