On May 8, 2023, the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Georgia D. Muratov with the member of the Parliament of Georgia, First Deputy Chairman of Legal Issues Committee, the Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group «Georgia-Turkmenistan» Mr. Davit Matikashvili was held at the Parliament of Georgia.
During the meeting, the sides noted the active growth of Turkmen-Georgian relations, based on a regular political dialogue, strengthening of economic ties, close cooperation in energy, transport, many areas of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the active cooperation between the two countries in a multilateral format, through reputable international organizations, including the UN.
At the same time, the dynamic nature of the established inter-parliamentary relations and the importance of the dialogue between the legislative bodies of the two states were emphasized.
Issues of the forthcoming visit of Georgian parliamentarians to Turkmenistan were also discussed at the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation and confidence that the traditionally friendly relations between our countries will continue to develop actively and serve for the benefit of our peoples.
