On May 12, 2023, Tehran University, one of the leading universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Orientation of Iran, the participation of the Association of Culture, Poetry and Eminent Personalities of Iran, as well as the parliamentary bloc of the President of Iran, hosted a solemn event dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
The event was attended by Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Hosseini, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Manouchehr Mottaki, ex-governor of the Iranian province of North Khorasan Mahmoud Ahmadi Bigash, representatives of the Muslim clergy - imams, as well as honorary elders, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora and scientists involved in the study of the creative heritage of the great poet of the 19th century.
During the event, presentations and reports were made by representatives of the expert community, as well as diplomatic and political circles.
The representative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Iran in his speech noted the importance of holding such cultural and educational events to strengthen ties between the two countries, and also spoke about Turkmen literature and the enormous role of Magtymguly Fragi in the development of the unique national identity of the Turkmen people.
After the statements of leading scientists and invited guests about the life and work of the classic of Turkmen literature, a concert program was organized by the Turkmen diaspora.
