From September 30 to October 1, 2023, a number of events dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan were organized in the city of Chicago with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States.
Thus, on September 30, a seminar was held in the conference hall of the Hoffman Estates Library on the topic “Foreign policy and international cooperation of Turkmenistan: the historic visit of the President of Turkmenistan to New York in September 2023.”
The meeting participants noted the historical significance of the international and regional initiatives put forward by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, as well as the high assessment by the world community of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy aimed at ensuring global peace, security and sustainable development.
In the afternoon, a volleyball tournament was held, in which youth teams from Turkmen citizens studying at US universities took part.
On October 1, a festive event was held in the Allegra hall in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan, which included a competition dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, as well as an online quiz on the history, culture and literature of Turkmenistan.
The winners were presented with memorable gifts on behalf of the Embassy.
