Representatives of Turkmenistan took part in the forum of the Organization of World Heritage Cities

On October 10-13, 2023, the fourth regional forum of the Organization of World Heritage Cities of the Asia-Pacific Region was held in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, in which a delegation of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan took part.

During the forum, the Turkmen side presented a report dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient city of Kunya-Urgench, whose architectural masterpieces and monuments are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

A video about the history and modern development of Turkmenistan and the country’s tourism opportunities was also shown.

The regional conference was devoted to the topic of using tangible and intangible cultural heritage to enhance the potential of cities included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
