On the 20th of December 2016, a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Turkmenistan Mr. A.K.M. Majibur Rahman Bhuiyan (residing in Tehran) was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Turkmenistan presented the copies of his credentials.
The sides noted the development of relations between the two countries. They underlined that Turkmenistan and Bangladesh have all the opportunities for further intensification of relations in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as establishing closer ties in the agricultural field and textile industry. Discussing the perspectives of cooperation in the field of energy between the countries, the sides expressed interest in establishing contacts between the business groups.
The importance of carrying out consultations between the foreign-policy agencies of the two states and activating inter-parliamentary ties was noted.
