A meeting with the representatives of the Permanent Representation of the United Nations in Turkmenistan, as well as with the heads of UN agencies and its structural departments was held in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the 20th of December 2016.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the issue of establishing the Training and Methodology Center on Sustainable development Goals. As known, the concept of creating such a Center was announced during the high-level Global Conference on Sustainable Transport. The sides noted the importance of strengthening the potential of Sustainable development goals in the country and discussed different aspects and possibilities related to the implementation of this project.
Listening to the proposals of the Turkmen side, representatives of the United Nations in Turkmenistan expressed readiness to assist with implementation of this project. The representatives of UN agencies expressed willingness to continue constructive dialogue on realizing the Sustainable development goals in the country and stated readiness to actively cooperate in this field.
