On October 17, 2019, in the city of Buenos Aires, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Argentine Republic. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister V.S. Khadzhiev. The delegation of Argentina was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cult of the Argentine Republic Gustavo Rudolfo Zlauvinen.
Having exchanged greetings, the parties noted the friendly character inherent in Turkmen-Argentine relations. During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the key aspects of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The parties also spoke about the important role of bilateral visits, which contribute to the further development of partnership.
Diplomats noted that the two states successfully cooperate in the framework of authoritative international organizations, primarily the UN. Recently, inter-parliamentary ties have been strengthened. The parties noted the need to continue the exchange of parliamentary delegations to strengthen the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
The parties also noted the need for further development of trade and economic relations. In this context, the need to identify possible areas and priority areas of cooperation was noted by establishing systemic contacts between the business circles of the two countries to expand trade and economic cooperation and increase trade. It was also talked about the possibility of developing cooperation in the field of agriculture, energy, transport and tourism. In addition, the parties discussed issues of expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
At the end of the negotiations, the parties stated that there are great opportunities for the further development of Turkmen-Argentine relations in various areas.
