On February 21, 2017 the tenth meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission for economic cooperation took place in Moscow.
During the meeting the sides noted the sustained and constructive character of cooperation between the countries based on the principles of strategic partnership, mutual understanding and trust.
It was ascertained recently imparted qualitative impetus to the partnership dialogue between Turkmenistan and Russia on such strategically important areas as industry, energy, transport, agriculture and others.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, a detailed analysis of the course and conditions of the bilateral trade and economic relations had been given, the great potential and prospects of cooperation was noted.
The parties have confirmed the effectiveness of direct partnership interaction between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation regions, particularly in such areas as industrial cooperation, cooperation between business structures.
As a result of negotiations the sides signed a Programme of economic cooperation between the Governments of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation for the period of 2017 - 2019 years.
