On March 23, 2017, in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a meeting was held with the representatives of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly headed by the member of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark, the chairman of the delegation of Denmark to the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, Peter Juel Jensen, who arrived in the Turkmen capital on a working visit.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan, the OSCE and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly were analyzed. Noting the country's active cooperation with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in recent years, the sides expressed mutual interest in further expanding them. The sides discussed in details the joint projects planned by the Government of Turkmenistan jointly with the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.
Speaking about the activities of Turkmenistan in the international arena, the sides noted the potential for positive neutrality of the country in fulfilling the sustainable development goals. In this context, the parties paid attention to the importance of interaction in the international arena and considered a number of issues for further consolidation of efforts to strengthen peace, security and development.
As part of the negotiations, the Danish parliamentarians were acquainted with the foreign policy course of Turkmenistan. Noting the existing prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Denmark, the sides expressed their commitment to their further development in various areas of mutual interest.
