On April 11, 2017, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain headed by the Trade Envoy of the Prime Minister of Great Britain, a Member of Parliament Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne, who arrived on a working visit to Ashgabat.
During the meeting, the parties noted the active course of cooperation between the countries and discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. Noting the need for further intensification of mutually beneficial partnership, the British side expressed its commitment to seeking new directions for cooperation. The parties discussed the possibilities of expanding the trade and economic partnership.
During the talks, special emphasis was placed on bilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
Discussing the cultural and humanitarian component of the relationship, the sides noted the opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of educational programs, as well as the issues of holding the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Great Britain.
