On November 15, 2017 in Ashgabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the delegation of the State of Qatar led by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmad Hassen Al Hamadi who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the VII Conference of Regional Economic Cooperation for Afghanistan (RECCA VII).
During the talks, noting that the main factor in the development of bilateral relations is an open and friendly dialogue established between the two heads of state, the parties briefly reviewed the joint work for this period. In this regard, the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached and the further development of bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Among the areas of mutual interest, the parties noted the energy sector.
Noting the role of the VII Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA VII), the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar appreciated the international initiatives of Turkmenistan in assisting Afghanistan through a number of large-scale and fundamental projects aimed at restoring and strengthening the economic potential of Afghanistan.
