On November 2-3, 2016 the Turkmen delegation visited the State of Qatar on a working visit.
On second of November political consultations between the two countries at the level of foreign ministers held at the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.
On November 3 at Doha the second meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on trade and economic cooperation has been held, which was attended by the heads and representatives of government agencies of Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar, including leading ministries and departments of the two countries.
Opening the meeting, the co-chairs of the Commission noted that in the modern era fruitful relations between the two countries have created a solid foundation for all-round intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation which has the profound potential. In this context, members of the commission expressed confidence that this meeting will give a new impetus to further development of the traditional cooperation between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar.
During the meeting, members of the delegations of the two countries discussed the issues of expansion of cooperation in such areas as fuel and energy complex, financial and banking, trade and economic cooperation, the industry, including the textile industry and textile production, transport, sports, science, education and culture.
At the end of the second meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on trade and economic cooperation the sides signed the final protocol.
During the working visit the delegation of Turkmenistan was also received by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
