On December 20, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hads a meeting with the delegation of the United Arab Emirates headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahayan who arrived to Turkmenistan on a working visit.
During the talks, the parties discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in the political, trade-economic, energy and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as in establishing closer ties in the field of sports, education and science. The sides exchanged views on the agenda of the second meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between the two countries. In addition, the issues of exchange of visits at the highest level were discussed.
According to the participants of the meeting, due to the policy of the leaders of the two countries, the relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates are characterized by a high level of trust, based on the established principles of mutual respect and equal partnership. Expressing satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations, the meeting participants noted the importance of regular contacts between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
