On January 29, 2018, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to Turkmenistan (with residence in Tehran) Mr. Majibur Rahman Buyan who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
Within the framework of the talks, issues of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh were discussed. The sides, noting the role of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, expressed their commitment to further expanding political and diplomatic cooperation. In this context, the parties noted the role of visits at the highest level.
The sides discussed the proposals on the activation of trade and economic relations and noted the need to establish contacts between representatives of business structures of the two countries. The parties stressed that Turkmenistan and Bangladesh have all the opportunities for greater intensification of relations in the field of agriculture and textile industry.
During the discussion, there was also noted the interest in developing relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
