On November 7, 2016 in Ashgabat began its work 1st Meeting of Authorized Representatives of Caspian littoral States organized for discussion of Protocol for Cooperation to combat illegal fishing on the Caspian Sea. The meeting in Ashgabat was attended by a delegation from the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan and the Azerbaijan Republic.
During the first day of the meeting the representatives of delegations expressed the positions of their States on the improvement of legal framework of cooperation in the field of fight against illegal fishing on the Caspian Sea and then were made suggestions and notes of the parties to the Protocol. There was also an exchange of views on a wide range of issues concerning the rules of procedure of the Commission for preservation, sustainable use and management of common marine biological resources.
Noting the commitment to continue the search of mutually acceptable solutions on the provisions of the above mentioned projects, taking into account proposals of all littoral States, the sides discussed possible joint measures to eliminate poaching in the Caspian Sea.
Tomorrow 1st Meeting of Authorized Representatives of Caspian littoral States organized for discussion of Protocol for Cooperation to combat illegal fishing on the Caspian Sea will continue its work.
