On February 9, 2018, the scientific and practical conference was held in the building of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The conference under the title "Turkmenistan-Republic of Tajikistan: 25 years Friendship and Cooperation " was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, and the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan M.Huseynzoda, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.Kholiknazar, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan I.Muminov, Chairman of the Society of Turkmens of Tajikistan D.Kullakov, The head of the Tajik branch of the GATM T. Mardoni participated in the forum. The event was also attended by the representatives of the media, representatives of the Turkmen Diaspora and Turkmen students studying in the universities of Dushanbe.
At the beginning of the conference, the parties congratulated each other on this landmark date and wished prosperity to the two friendly countries, and also briefed participants on the key aspects of the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was emphasized that the personal trusting relations between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon contribute first of all to the activation of mutually beneficial Turkmen-Tajik dialogue, in the spirit of friendship of good-neighborliness. The reciprocal visits of the leaders of the two fraternal countries, carried out on a regular basis, demonstrate a mutual commitment to the establishment and further development of full-scale cooperation for the benefit of overall progress.
The participants of the conference were informed that on February 23, 2018 the construction of the next stage of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, the laying of the power transmission line and the fiber-optic communication line Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan, as well as the opening of a new railway along the route Serhetabat-Turgundi will take place.
At the conclusion of the scientific and practical conference, the parties once again congratulated each other on a significant date, expressed interest in further escalating interstate dialogue and interaction in all spheres on the basis of the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit of the friendly peoples of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
At the end of the event, the Embassy organized a tea party with traditional treats for the participants.
