Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Meets with Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran
On 7 October 2026, on the sidelines of the events held in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” within the framework of Turkmenistan’s Chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as promising areas for further interaction between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Particular attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the transport sector, expansion of transit opportunities and strengthening of regional transport connectivity. The sides emphasized the importance of further developing transport infrastructure and effectively utilizing the transit potential of the two countries.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on cooperation within the framework of regional and international transport initiatives.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran wished Turkmenistan success in hosting the planned events within the framework of its Chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2026.
The sides reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening Turkmen-Iranian cooperation and continuing a constructive dialogue on areas of mutual interest.
