On March 6, 2018, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation of the Russian Federation led by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexander Gruzdev who arrived in Ashgabat to attend the fifth meeting of the High-Level Group on Trade and Investment Support within the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen -Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the fifth meeting of the High-Level Group on Trade and Investment Support within the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation. The parties also stressed the need to implement the agreements reached during the meetings of the heads of the two states held in 2017.
In addition, the sides discussed issues of development of trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the spheres of industry, energy, construction, agriculture and fisheries, scientific and technical cooperation, as well as preparations for the eleventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation.
