On April 27, 2018, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine organized at the National Transport University of Kiev International scientific-practical conference "The Role of Turkmenistan in the development of international transit and transport cooperation in the context of the announced year "Turkmenistan - the Heart of the Great Silk Road".
The conference was attended by the heads of the diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Ukraine, the deputies of the Parliament, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, heads of transport departments, large state and private transport organizations, rectors and teachers of Ukrainian universities, Turkmen and Ukrainian students - future specialists in the transport sector , representatives of the media.
The purpose of the conference was the presentation of Turkmenistan's transport capabilities, infrastructure policy and state achievements under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the context of the development of international cooperation between the countries.
Rector of the National Transport University, professor N.Dmitrichenko, congratulating those present at the beginning of the large-scale forum, noted the tremendous importance of the event for its participants.
Then the rector of the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications N.Kuliyev spoke on the theme "Transport strategy aimed at strengthening universal peace and sustainable development". The Rector expressed sincere gratitude to his Ukrainian colleagues for their cooperation and support in organizing the international conference.
During the intensive program of the conference, the participants of the conference discussed the present and the future of bilateral relations between the countries on the development of the transport system, the development of transport corridors and the search for new logistics solutions, the urgency of training specialists in the context of the Great Silk Road project.
Students from Turkmenistan prepared reports on current issues about the role of the Great Silk Road in the history of Turkmenistan and a new stage in the development of the Great Silk Road in the country, as well as the prospects for logistics of passenger transportation in Turkmenistan.
At the end of the international conference, all those present were invited to a banquet and the main national dish - Turkmen pilaw.
