On October 11, 2016 at Brukenthal National Museum, Sibiu there was an official opening ceremony of the exhibition of Turkmenistan that was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the Museum. The exhibition was devoted to the 25th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan and to the year of "Honoring Heritage, transforming the Motherland".
The exhibition displayed manual Turkmen carpets, national attires, musical instruments, scientific works of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, other printed materials of Turkmenistan, as well as objects of decorative art.
The opening ceremony was attended by the employees of Brukenthal National Museum, representatives of local authorities and the diplomatic corps accredited in Sibiu, members of the public and intellectuals, the media, as well as students from Turkmenistan studying in universities of Sibiu.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the officials noted the rich culture of Turkmenistan and expressed confidence that this joint action will allow residents of Sibiu get acquainted with the culture and folklore of Turkmenistan. The exhibition will run until 17 October.
After the opening ceremony in the reception hall of the museum the Embassy organized a reception for participants and guests of the exhibition.
