On November 24, 2016 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Turkmenistan Mr. Ayalev Gobezie Vorkneh, who arrived on a working visit to Ashgabat.
During the meeting, noting the high level of political cooperation, the sides discussed issues of further development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in a different range of areas of mutual interest. Noting the important role of cooperation with African countries, the Turkmen side expressed its commitment to the development of relations with the African Union. Discussing the issue of intensification of political and diplomatic cooperation, the parties stressed the need for regular political consultations.
In the course of the meeting the parties also exchanged views on the expansion of trade and economic cooperation. The sides noted the importance of joint measures for deepening cultural and humanitarian relations.
During the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Turkmenistan presented copies of his credentials. Noting the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries in various areas, the Ambassador said that as the authorized representative of his country in Turkmenistan, he intends to make every effort for the further development and strengthening of mutual relations and cooperation between the two countries.
