On October 1, 2018, the Days of Sustainable Development Goals opened at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by the heads and officers of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan, Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, the International University of Humanities and Development, the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi, as well as representatives of the media.
At the ceremony the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B.Zakhyrov and the UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan E.Panova made welcoming speeches.
Speakers stressed that Turkmenistan is actively working to implement the Sustainable Development Goals adopted at the end of the UN World Summit held in September 2015 in New York. In particular, Turkmenistan, among the first, officially adopted all 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals and 148 tasks arising from them, as well as 194 indicators for their practical implementation.
The event included a presentation of the results of the work of the Scientific-methodological Center on Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the “Days of Sustainable Development Goals” in Turkmenistan.
On October 30, 2018, the monthly campaign of the Days of Sustainable Development Goals will be closed.
